Angela & Angela VI spend Spring Break in Belize

Angela was excited to have her first mother/daughter trip with Angela VI in San Pedro, Belize for Spring Break in March. They had forgotten that March is a time for beautifully windy days…that unfortunately also blow lots of seaweed onto the shore and up into the shallows. There was a team at Las Terrazas that spent the day hauling the seaweed away, but it still would be more enjoyable in other months if your dates are more flexible than theirs.

The ladies enjoyed all the activities, from scuba diving and then snorkeling with the massive nurse sharks (high thrill, low risk, so definitely exhilarating to be so close to such large sharks!), to zip lining and cave tubing. They also took advantage of the resort’s complimentary paddle boards to see more of the coastline. Running along that coastline proved to be a great and challenging workout.

One highlight was renting a golf cart and exploring the island. There was a really cool place called “The Truck Stop” that had three shipping containers. One was turned into a pizza place, one a Mexican place and the third was Asian cuisine. They also had a great tiki bar for any beverages you like and then there were picnic tables and everyone just sat and chatted and listened to live music.

The small plane over to the island from Belize City was stunning and completely added to the experience. Angela had been to Belize in 2009 to stay at the Coppola properties in the jungle (Blancaneaux) and then the beach (Turtle Inn) so it was really interesting to see the differences in parts of Belize. The diving had been better closer to the Coppola properties, so if snorkeling or diving is your priority, we’ll be sure you are setup at the best spot for that. Overall, it was a very relaxing and adventurous getaway together!
