There’s no better time of year to experience the wildlife of Yellowstone than winter. The park’s famous gray wolves and majestic mammals are on display in a sparkling setting where the silence is broken only by the hiss of geysers and steaming mud pots.
But wolves are only one highlight of a winter expedition to Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. On their Ultimate Wolf & Wildlife Safari, you’re sure to see great herds of bison, their heavy coats tipped in frost. Look, too, for moose, bighorn sheep, coyote and eagles, often at close range. We also ride a horse-drawn sleigh across the National Elk Refuge in Jackson Hole for views of the herds beneath the Teton peaks.
