Enjoy the day at your leisure. Tonight, join your fellow travelers for a welcome dinner featuring regional specialties. (D)
Walk through Turin with an expert guide, uncovering a blend of French and Italian heritage. Wrap up the tour by trying a bicerin – a mix of espresso and chocolate – in one of the city’s cafés, reminiscent of Parisian coffee spots. After getting acquainted with the city, the rest of the day is yours to further explore Turin on your own. This evening, consider an optional excursion to a historic palace after hours, where you will enjoy an aperitif with a local guide. (B)
Head to Italy’s picturesque Riviera, weaving through the Langhe wine country (UNESCO) along the way. Stop at the hilltop village of La Morra on your way to a local winery, where you will enjoy a tour and tasting. After a light lunch continue to Sestri Levante, perched along the Mediterranean Sea. Enjoy an evening on your own to acquaint yourself with the Italian Riviera and perhaps get a bite of the local cuisine. (B, L)
Spend the day exploring the colorful cliff-side villages of Cinque Terre* with a local guide. Take in the picturesque, rugged coastline dotted with terraced vineyards as you travel by rail. Make your way through this seemingly inaccessible string of fishing villages, nestled between the mountains and the Mediterranean Sea. (B)
Discover the medieval city of Lucca, encircled by 16th-century Renaissance walls. Wander with a local guide, delving into the city’s Roman heritage and storied past. Enjoy some free time to explore the Piazza Napoleone and the rest of the city on your own. Continue on through the rolling hills of Tuscany for a 3-night stay** in the village of Figline. This evening, try your hand at the local culture with an interactive pasta-making demonstration by your hotel’s on-site chef. (B, D)
Explore Florence (UNESCO), the “Cradle of the Renaissance” during a locally guided walking tour of the city’s iconic sites. Walk along the glittering storefronts on the Ponte Vecchio (Old Bridge), the only Florentine bridge to survive WWII. You’ll also wander past the Palazzo Vecchio, the Piazza della Signoria, and Santa Croce. Enjoy time to explore more on your own before returning to your hotel in the evening. (B)
Journey through Tuscany’s low-lying hills and dense olive groves to an award-winning frantoio (olive mill), where olives are pressed each November.*** After learning about the many varieties of trees and oil-making methods, join a tasting of the different varietals of EVOO produced at the mill. Your exploration of the Chianti countryside continues in the village of Greve, surrounded by vineyard-carpeted hills. Cap off an unforgettable journey at a farewell dinner with your fellow travelers. (B, D)

Most shops and businesses in Italy are closed on Sundays and on national/religious holidays.
When reserving single accommodations, be advised that single rooms in Italy are often smaller in size.
In order to fully experience the destination, some of our hotels on these programs are located in smaller towns or on country roads where access is limited to large coaches.
In these cases, you will be dropped off as close as possible and there will be a short walk to access the hotel from the drop-off area.
Days of features are interchangeable.
To complete your tour, we include roundtrip airport-to-hotel transfers when purchasing our airfare with your tour. If you have arranged for your own air, we are pleased to provide you the option of purchasing these transfers. Please note that all transfers will leave at pre-scheduled times.

We suggest you book a ticket online if you plan to visit the Academy or the Uffizi during your free time in Florence.
*Travel to Cinque Terre is by rail. Trains are subject to delays and to public transportation strikes. In the event of a major strike, we may replace your visit to the Cinque Terre with a visit of Portofino.
**Note that some dates will be accommodated in countryside estates.
***Olives are picked over a period of approximately 45 days. The exact starting and ending day depends on the weather and can vary from mid-October to mid-December.
The overall activity level of this tour is a level 3. This means you’re an on-the-go traveler. You don’t want to miss a thing, so walking and standing for longer periods of time (1-2 hours) isn’t a big deal. You can navigate hills and uneven ground, climb into various modes of transportation (tuk-tuk, cable car, zodiac, etc.), and could possibly anticipate changes in elevation. You can expect some longer days balanced with free-time to recharge or set out on your own adventure. In particular, you should expect large crowds in the Cinque Terre and in Florence, which requires minimum 2.5 miles of walking over flat but cobblestoned streets with narrow sidewalks. For the Cinque Terre excursion, agility is required to board trains that require the ability to climb 3 one-foot tall steps holding on to railings and agility boarding local ferry boats when available. Some of the most unique sightseeing can mean accessing locations that restrict motor coaches, especially in historic areas such as Florence and Lucca. For your comfort, we recommend bringing walking shoes. If you require a walker or wheelchair, or have difficulty walking, you may not be able to access some of these areas and may want to consider an alternate program with us. Our travel counselors can provide additional information or assistance to help you determine the perfect trip for you.
Please be advised many airlines do not provide advance seat assignments until check-in at the airport. Advance seating will be subject to the airline’s terms and conditions.
Our air passengers will arrive into Milan airport and depart from Florence airport. Our transfers will depart from/return to these airports.
Economy air rate and schedule are applicable for groups of 10 or more traveling on the same flights and dates.
